Basically, the Internet is formed by the interconnection of computer networks. Furthermore, connected computer networks use the TCP/IP protocol suite for communication. Each device or computer connected to the Internet has a unique address. This address is referred to as the IP address. There are organizations like IETF7 (Internet Engineering Task Force) that develop the standards for the usage of the Internet. However, there is no authority that controls the Internet.
